INAE Chair Professorship
Objectives
INAE Chair Professorship has been instituted in order to encourage engineers/technologists with outstanding research contributions, promote long-term participation in academic research and enhance the research standards in academic institutions.
Eligibility and Age
The Chair Professorship shall be conferred on INAE Fellows, between the ages of 45 and 65 years, working in well-recognized academic institution or research organization or industry in India.
Should have been in the Rank of Professor in academic institutions or equivalent to the rank of professor either in R&D organization or in engineering industry/ organizations.
Request for extension of tenure and re-nomination of INAE Fellows who have already availed the scheme once, shall not be considered.
Number of Positions
Total number at any given time shall not exceed ten.
Tenure
The INAE Chair Professorship shall be tenable for a maximum period of three years, subject to age being below 65 years.
Value
There shall be no financial provision w.e.f. September 2, 2024.
Operation of the Scheme
a. Applications under this Scheme shall be invited from the Fellows of the Academy. Applications complete in all respects will be sent through the Head of the institution where the Fellow intends to work, along with Certificate of Support to INAE office by November 10, 2024.
b. The INAE Chair Professor is requested to submit the Annual Report of the work done in recommended format in the month of March of each year, to INAE office.
c. The Chair Professors shall be requested to publish his/her research results in Transactions of INAE. They can also be encouraged to publish Text Books or Technical books under INAE-Springer Series agreement. They may also consider organizing seminars/ workshops/conferences under INAE Banner.
Interactions / Obligations
All patent rights, designs and inventions derived from the research work carried out under the aegis of the INAE Chair Professorship scheme shall be governed by the rules of the institution(s) concerned.
