Engineers Conclave 2017 was organized jointly with NAL, Bangalore wherein one of the Theme was “Regional Aircraft Connectivity”. Actionable recommendations were emanated from EC-2017. In addition, various Round Table Meetings were organized under the chairmanship of Prof. Roddam Narasimha with the participation of eminent experts from R&D, Academia and Industry to bring out the paper on “Strategies for Realization India for 70-100-seater Transport Aircraft”. Suitable mechanism for the development and production of indigenous regional transport aircraft by the Industry in the Country to meet the national requirements was recommended to NITI Aayog to take up the case for instituting a Special Purpose Vehicle for approval of PMO. The approval has since been accorded and the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MOCA) directed to process the case to form a SPV with a CEO to head the initiative between NAL, ADA and HAL on priority.
