Synthesis, characterization of structure/microstructure and mechanical and functional properties of advanced (nanostructured) materials. Synthesis: nanoparticles, thin films, bulk materials using gas phase, liquid phase and solid phase processes. Structural characterization: XRD, SEM, STEM, XPS, AFM, STM, UV-Vis, Raman, Mössbauer spectroscopy, Positron annihilation spectroscopy, etc. Property measurements: mechanical testing using nanoindenter to bulk testing, magnetometry, SQUID, VSM, PPMS, etc.
