As chairman, Board of Governors of Malaviya NIT, Jaipur and NIT, Uttarakhand, Srinagar. As president’s nominee on RGNAU, Raebareli and as a member of university court of JNU. Dr. Tyagi has made significant contributions for the cause of higher education in India.

Dr. Tyagi is at present helping Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT) Jaipur as chairperson of Board of Governors.

He is actively involved with ANUGRAHA DRISTIDAAN as a trustee. Anugraha Drishtidaan has its presence in 23 states of India and has organized more than 990 eye camps so far. During Covid-19, the NGO has distributed more than 88,500 food packets to migrant and needy in the Delhi NCR areas.

He is also Vice President of BAL AAROGYA trust, a national level NGO working in 9 States for upliftment of children in health care.

As, President of CENTRE FOR INDIA PROGRESSING he is helping the masses by virtue of medical health camps, giving support to leprosy children for attaining education.

As a trustee of Foundation for Aviation and Sustainable Tourism (FAST), he contributes towards the growth of aviation and tourism in India.

As an APEX member for north India, he also helps ART OF LIVING (an NGO) towards education and quality upgrades of common citizens.

He is also helping the cause of children education in Noida by virtue of being one of the managing trustee on Sri Sri Ravi Shankar VIDYA MANDIR. He also addresses young children/students on various social platforms for becoming responsible leaders for tomorrow’s India.

      CMD, Pawan Hans Helicopters Ltd. (a Mini Navratna company) from May 2007 to Mar 2012. 

    Served ONGC in various fields like IT Networks, Setcom, Infocom, Marketing and rose to the position of Head Marketing and Head Air Logistics (from April, 1976 to May 2007)
