Dr. SN Triparthis work is highly interdisciplinary interfacing between energy, environment and climate woven around his core expertise in aerosols. He has made laboratory measurements of optical and coating properties of the complex soot structures to determine their light absorbing properties. These properties were used with observations to identify the pollutants responsible for discoloration of TajMahal surfaces. This discovery not only led to significant changes in the environmental protection policies around this 16th century monument but also laid pathway to source mitigation. He made fundamental contribution to understanding fog-smog-fog cycle by discovering aqueous mechanism behind secondary organic aerosols formation..Sector Associated With:
