Major Professional Contributions:

Dr. Swades De's research contributions are in two broad areas: broadband communication networks, wireless ad hoc sensor networks. On broadband communication networks, one of his key contributions is development of a new network architecture based on integration of cellular and modern ad hoc relaying technologies. This architecture not only increases system capacity cost-effectively, but also reduces power requirements for mobile hosts and extends system coverage. On wireless ad-hoc sensor networks, one of his key contributions is analytical characterization of multi access interference and tradeoff between interference and connectivity. His work on multi-criteria relaying optimization has earned US, European, and International patents..
