Educational / Academic institutions

Major Professional Contributions:

• Real-time location specific stand-alone storm surge prediction systems have been developed for east and the west coasts of India, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Thailand. The models can be run in a few minutes on a PC in an operational office. One of the significant features of this storm surge predication system is its ability to investigate multiple forecast scenarios to be made in real time. This has an advantage because the meteorological input needed for surge prediction can be periodically updated with the inflow of data on fast telecommunication links. These systems are found to be of great value in deciding and designing the most appropriate protection measures in the coastal regions. .

Professional Experience:

  • 50 Years of R & D
  • teaching & administrative experience at IIT Kharagpur, IIT Delhi, KIIT University Bhubaneswar, Amity University Jaipur, India Meteorological Department and Lucknow University.

Keywords:

Storm Surge, Tropical Cyclones.
