Dr. Mannan is a renowned research worker and has guided a group of Scientists and Engineers in various areas of Materials Engineering like Mechanical Metallurgy, Physical Metallurgy, Corrosion Science and Technology. He has made extensive contributions in the areas of Creep, Fatigue and Fracture, Life Assessment of High Temperature Components, Materials Processing, Welding Metallurgy and Development and Evaluation of Power Plant and Gas Turbine Materials. After Superannuation from IGCAR, Kalpakkam, he has mentored Faculty as Dean R&D, National Engineering College, Kovilpatti [2006-2014] and developed R&D activities in various engineering disciplines in the college. As Consultant at GTRE, DRDO, he has been providing guidance to a group of Materials Engineers in the areas of High Temperature Materials Developement related to Aero Engine. He has worked as Guest Scientist in different renowned institutions in USA, Japan and China. Dr. Mannan is an author of more than 275 jour nal publications and has guided 14 Ph.D. students..
