Major Professional Contributions:

Pioneered the development of digital photoelasticity. Developed novel algorithms for fringe thinning, phase shifting and colour image processing of fringe patterns. Applied digital photoelasticity to solve a variety of problems ranging from aerospace to biomechanics. Developed software for extracting Stress Intensity factors from experimental information like photoelasticity, DIC and strain gauges using multi parameter stress/strain field equations. Delivered advanced level courses on Exdperimental Stress analysis and Engineering Fracture Mechanics in NPTEL..
