Major Professional Contributions:

Initially worked in industrial R&D dealing with various facets of technology development and project implementation / management, in real time. Extensive hands on experience of working with various segments of R&D with deep understanding of individual entities in R&D space and corresponding intricacies providing a unique insight in visualizing the interconnects and overall integration of R&D value chain from concept to commercialization. Provided technical support to running plant production activities and development of several processes / technologies for new products for real life implementation.

Later, as an Advisor in the Department of Science & Technology (DST), dealt with the overall policy framework and several direct interventions through a vast range of schemes and programmes related to promotion of scientific research and capacity building, particularly in the area of Engineering Sciences. For over 27 years in DST, presided over some of the best and most efficiently managed R&D programmes in DST, receiving due acknowledgement and wide acclaim from the research community. Developed joint R&D programs with other agencies, including leading US federal agencies. Also worked with Laboratory Accreditation Systems, Quality Management Systems and Environment Management Systems as an Assessor, Trainer and Consultant.

Currently working as Executive Director of Indo-US Science & Technology (IUSSTF), a bi-national organization created by the two Governments, to promote S&T cooperation between the two countries.

  • Senior Process Engineer, Synthetics & Chemicals Ltd, Bareilly (1982-88).
  • Advisor, Department of Science & Technology, New Delhi (1988-2015).
  • Executive Director, Indo-US Science & Technology Forum, New Delhi (2015 - Till Date).
