Areas of Interest:

Mechanical behaviour of materials particularly high temperature fatigue
Structure-property correlation
Alloy development.

Specialization:

High temperature low cycle fatigue, thermomechanical fatigue and creep-fatigue interaction behaviour of austenitic stainless steels, ferritic-martensitic steels and RAFM steels.
Micromechanisms of cyclic deformation and fracture.
Development of Austenitic stainless steels, Ferritic-martensitic steels and ODS steels.

Consultancy Areas:

Evaluation and Analysis of low cycle fatigue, thermomechanical fatigue, high cycle fatigue and creep-fatigue interaction behavior of materials.
Materials development for energy systems..

Sector Associated With:

R&D

Sectors Interested to Offer Service:

Educational / Academic institutions, Industry (Private), Industry (PSUs), R&D Organizations, Government (including funding agencies)

Major Professional Contributions:

Actively coordinated in strategic projects of IGCAR, such as development of 9Cr-ODS alloy clad tubes for Fast Reactor and Reduced Activation Ferritic-Martensitic (RAFM) steel for DEMO fusion reactor. Contributions in the selection of 'high strength and irradiation resistant' alloy composition and processing route are prominent, and also demonstrated the long-term creep rupture strength properties of the ODS clad tubes requisite for minimizing the fuel cycle costs. Notable contributions are made in the field of cyclic deformation and associated damage mechanisms in structural materials of interest to fast reactors and fusion reactors..

Professional Experience:

  • Scientific Officer 'C' : 2005-2007
  • Scientific Officer 'D' : 2007-2011
  • Scientific Officer 'E' : 2011-present.

Keywords:

Thermomechanical Fatigue, Creep-fatigue interaction, Low cycle fatigue, Austenitic stainless steels, ODS steels, Ferritic-Martensitic steels, Cyclic deformation and Damage mechanisms, Life prediction. .
