Major Professional Contributions:

Dr. Anish Kumar has made many significant contributions in the field of elastic properties of materials, microstructure-mechanical property correlation and nondestructive microstructural characterization using ultrasonic technique in a wide range of metallic materials, such as uranium, ferritic steels, austenitic stainless steels, maraging steel, nickel based superalloys and titanium alloys. He has established several innovative methodologies and introduced new ultrasonic parameters for materials evaluation for the first time. He has performed excellent basic and applied research with emphasis on their application to innovative technology developments and solving industrial problems. Dr. Kumar has published more than 120 technical papers (incl. editor of 2 books and 85 in refereed journals). He has contributed immensely towards non-destructive studies on national heritage such as iron pillars at Delhi and Kodachadri, and stone musical pillars at Hampi. He has also contributed imme nsely towards development of ultrasonic inspection procedures for various strategic applications for Indian Navy, space research, Indian Army, defence laboratories, Indian ITER project and advanced ultrasonic super critical reactor project..
