Major Professional Contributions:

Prof. Amrutur has made many pioneering contributions in area of low power electronics design. He proposed the concept of "Replica Bitline Technique" for low power SRAMs(memory chips). He co-invented new line code called 64B/66B now part of IEEE 10 Gigabit Ethernet standard and is used in 10 Gigabit serial Ethernet products worldwide. He invented new techniques for measuring on-chip delay with sub-picosecond precision that have wide application in semiconductor metrology and low voltage low power design.He co-developed new low cost sensor for glycated hemoglobin measurement. This has wide applicability in Indian context due to large population of diabetic patients. He is currently involved with researching and developing IoT Systems Technologies for delivering solutions for Smart Cities..
