Prof. Jhunjhunwala has been significantly contributing to Education Reforms, Quality Enhancement, Technology Incubation, Industry-academia collaboration and Technology Development. He has been a Member of Kakodkar committee for IITs, NIT & AICTE review committee. He was also chairman of MHRD committee for Quality Enhancement in Engineering Education (QEEE), and today drives a Direct to Students (D2S) program which delivers live course modules to about 125 engineering colleges spread over the country. He heads incubators (RTBI and IITMIC) at IIT Madras and they have incubated about 100 companies, He is Chairman of SAC-DC committee on Water, TAG-EM Committee, TV White Space Committee, Technology committee, SEBI & QEEE. He is Faculty Incharge at IITMIC, RTBI, IITM Research Park,
His UDC project aims to enable a technique to provide 24X7 power supply to Indian homes.
